Journal Topic - Due: Friday, July 27

1. Now, you need to think about what message Howard Beale (the speaker) is trying to tell. It's fairly obvious. What message did you take away from this?
A speaker explained the television in this video. Most people do not use the time for reading books and newspaper. The speaker told us the television set doesn't have truths. So we lived in the illusion. Finally, he insisted us that we turn off the television and then, we see truths.
2. Is this message more or less relevant today than 30 years ago when this movie came out?
I think this massage is more relevant to today society rather than 30 year's ago because TV is familiar thing with us. We can see TV in most house and also we can find it easily. People get many information as watch the television. They spend more time to reading book and newspaper than to watch TV because TV gets information faster than book and newspaper. In my case, I can do different work at same time as watch the television.
3. Is this a message for American audiences only, or is it a message that could be spread in your home country? Why or why not?
These days, it's not only American's problem but also a worldwide issue. Koreans spend too much time on watching TV. Koreans think now we have technology to get information like TV. Koreans don't like to read newspaper and book, so people to read books decrease every year. this message is for every country in the world.
4. Does this make you want to see the movie, or does it just sound like a boring old man trying to tell everyone how to live their life?
It was not interesting to me, but not bored because I understand speaker tried to explain to us. I think this video shows the direction of our life.

Story

It was a light and never got a dark.
There were two suns in the sky.
The bird were singing and looking around for partner.
There were many beautiful flowers in the garden.
It reminded me about my past.
When I was 10 years old, we had a beautiful house and yard. I have good childhood in there. No tension about life, Just be relaxed all the time. But now I am changed, because I found a girl who changed my life.
When I saw her, I tried to make a girlfriend and I said “Love you.”
But she rejected me. She said she deserved something belter
He was so mad. Then, he went to the bar to drink alone. He turned around and he found a young pretty girl, sweet, and rich. She was Korean and she said “Hi” him. He was so pawn and tried to get her phone numbers. She gave her numbers and kissed him. He was happy. Finally, he woke up because it was a dream.

Listening Journal

I watched movies which are Code Name - The Cleaner today. The movies showed for 91 minutes. This genre is comedy, action and crime movies.
Jake, Cedric Kyles, is a hero and Jina, Lucy Lui, is a heroine in this movie.
The content of this movie is as follows. Jake injured the head, so he suffered an attack of amnesia. There is one chip about action game to him. villains maked efforts to take the chip by force but it wasn't easy. He was retaking memories of the past slowly. He retook his memories and Jake and Jina solve the affair.
This movies ware interesting but a content of the movies is very much simple. This movies seem to make to be just funny. I don't want to watch this movies again because the content of movies does not exist. I like movies which have the content like An Inconvenient Truth.

Journal Topic - Due July 20

1. Summarize the Simpsons episode.
One day, Lisa tried to solve a puzzle. Everybody solved the puzzle easily but not her. she forgot to do her project, so she worried about that she would be stupid like her father and brother. her grandfather told her about Simpsons' gene. She went to a museum and Jazz club to feed her brain the last meal. She got an idea after she talked singer who sing in the Jazz club. Homer found her strange behavior and called all of his relatives to his house for helping her. Every man didn't succeed but Simpson's women succeeded. Finally, Lisa didn't worry about her brain because she knew that stupid came from Simpson's Y gene.

2. Which is more important in human development of personality and intellegence: genes or environment?
I think that both environment and intelligence are important to human, but the environment is more important than the intelligence. a man of genius comes from gene of 1 percent and effort of 99 percents. people to do good from the beginning doesn't exist. We can get through many efforts.
